OLM Group expands social care business with acquisition of Pavilion

OLM Group, a supplier of information solutions for children's and
adult services has announced the acquisition of Pavilion Publishing.
Pavilion will merge with OLM’s online publishing arm E-Business, which
publishes Bettercaring.com and CareKnowledge, to create a
new information and publishing company focused on the care sector.
Pavilion has more than 20 years’ experience in social care
publishing, professional training materials, organising specialist
events and national conferencing. Its publications include trade
journals and magazines such as Mental Health Today, Learning
Disability Today and Drugs and Alcohol Today. Pavilion also
hosts conferences and exhibitions for those working within the health,
social and housing fields.
OLM Group and Pavilion Publishing have a shared history of
co-operation. OLM Group licenses Pavilion Publishing content copy for
its CareKnowledge service, which is delivered to 15,000 local
authority and social services staff. Furthermore both companies
co-publish a learning disabilities service provider directory.
James Marsland, director of OLM E-Business, said, “Pavilion
Publishing is a respected name in the social care community, and a
combined OLM Group and Pavilion Publishing business will result in
significantly increased revenue. I’m really excited about the potential
for the merged business.”
Chris Parker, founding director of Pavilion Publishing, also welcomed
the merger, saying, “The move is a great fit for us as a traditional
publishing company and will enable us to deliver our content in new and
innovative ways on the web. We have worked hard to build a reputation
for providing high quality information and are excited that we will now
be able to offer customers that information in more flexible ways.”
